"NetLock's origins go back to an idea that emerged during the coronavirus pandemic. As remote work became increasingly important, I envisioned offering virtual workstations for small businesses. To manage these workstations effectively, an antivirus and monitoring solution was required — but neither the feature sets nor the pricing of well-known providers were convincing."
Background
This led me to begin developing NetLock in 2021 as a cloud-only SaaS solution. By the end of 2023, I decided to rebuild the entire project from the ground up, making it self-hostable and fully open source.
With NetLock RMM as an open-source RMM platform, I aim to enrich the RMM landscape. Today, the market is dominated by large vendors whose products are primarily cloud-based or not open source in the sense defined by the Open Source Initiative.
