    Learn how to organize your infrastructure with tenants, locations, and groups

    Introduction

    Tenants

    Also known as clients, represent your customers. Each tenant is technically separated in NetLock.

    Locations

    Technically separated within your tenant. Manage multiple physical or logical locations.

    Groups

    Your agents are organized within groups. Move devices between groups for better visibility.

    Tenants, also known as clients, represent your customers. Each tenant is technically separated in NetLock and allows the management of multiple locations and groups.

    Managing Tenants

    Add New Tenant

    Navigate to Tenants → Manage on the web console.

    Click on Add

    Start the process of creating a new tenant

    Define a name and fill in the fields

    Enter the tenant name and complete other fields as desired

    Click Confirm

    Save the new tenant configuration

    Add a New Location

    Locations are technically separated within your tenant. To manage your locations, navigate to Tenants → Manage, select your desired tenant, and click on Manage. At the bottom, you have Locations.

    Click on Add Location

    Start the process of creating a new location

    Fill in the required information

    Enter the location details

    Click Confirm

    Save the new location

    Add a Group

    Your agents will be located inside groups. Groups can be created within locations. Inside the groups, you can move devices from one group to another for better visibility.

    Start the process of creating a new group

    Enter the group details

    Click Confirm

    Save the new group

    Get Access to a new Tenant

    If you cannot see a tenant, you need to edit your user's permissions.

    Navigate to Users

    Open the Users section in the web console

    Select your username and click on Manage

    Access your user management settings

    Switch to the Permissions tab

    Navigate to the permissions configuration

    Under Assigned Tenants, check the checkbox

    Select the tenant you want to access

    Click Save

    Apply the permission changes

    You will now be able to access the tenant.

    Additional Information

    Flexibility Without Disruption

    You can freely rename your tenants, locations, and groups without causing any problems with your agent installations.

    You can also move devices between groups without needing to worry about disrupting connections or requiring reconfiguration.
